Charity Stories

George Arthur Sensory Quilts Helping To Improve Lives

We  recently donated some  fabric to the 'George Arthur Sensory Quilts Helping To Improve Lives' group. Purdy Garcia, who runs the group, has already made this stunning quilt with our donated fabric. This will be donated to the hospice to help patients and their family hopefully feel a little more at home in those last days, the quilts will then be offered to the family’s to keep. Sewing for The Children

We recently sent a bag of fabric to Ann Charles, who is a member of the group 'Sewing for the Children' to make clothes for children in Syrian refugee camps in Turkey.

Beads of Courage UK and Ireland

The Beads of Courage programme offers support and strength to families when they need it most. When a child is suffering from a serious illness, a child's Beads of Courage becomes a physical journal of their individual journey. Diana Neal reached out to us about making bags for the beads, so we sent her some fabric, don't they look wonderful?

Pyjama Fairies

Pyjama Fairies is one the few volunteer charities solely dedicated to helping kids feel more comfortable while in hospital. After having so many referrals to Pyjama Fairies on our Facebook page, we arrange a bag of fabrics to go to the charity every few months. They have a group of volunteers who create wonderful wrappy pyjamas.

Nelson Quilters

Nelson Quilters are based at North Walsham, Norfolk. Last year they donated over 100 quilts to various charities, Quidenham Hospice, NN Hospital , Age Concern, Grenfell Tower Fire, a day Centre for disabled children, and a day centre for the elderly. They also make Hearts for Cancer patients, driver bags, and drainage bags. We sent some fabric to Gill Hamilton who made these awesome quilts for Domestic Abuse victims in Norwich.

Street Paws

Street Paws is a Vet/Vetnurse team who go and walk the streets once a month and check on the the dogs who live with the homeless. They vaccinate, flea, worm generally check them over and sort any treatment they may need. In total around 100 dogs are checked regularly by Street Paws. We. donated fabric to Kate who volunteers for the charity. She makes dog bandanas to raise money for Street Paws and also donated Christmas themed accessories to dogs who live with the homeless last Christmas.
