Fabric Notice Board

This is a perfect make for your room or office. Simple, easy and a no-sew project!

What you will need:

  • Pen

  • Ruler

  • Scissors

  • Ribbon

  • Fabric Glue

  • Stapler

  • Heritage wadding

  • The Craft Cotton Company's Textured Turquoise cotton print

First, cut out your fabric and wadding:

Place your notice board on top of your wadding and fabric. Pull your fabric over the sides of the notice board and onto the back.

Mark your fabric and wadding where they are over lapping the back of the notice board by 1 inch. Cut along these markings.

Tip: You may want to do 2 layers of wadding to make the board extra thick.)

Next, attach the fabric and wadding:

Using fabric glue, glue around the frame of the notice board and on the cork. Place the wadding on the making sure that it is pulled tightly over the frame. Glue the edges of the wadding onto the back of the frame.

Repeat this process if you are using more that one piece of wadding.

Follow the same instructions as the wadding for the fabric piece: place the glue on the wadding and then place the fabric on, pulling it taught.

When you have glued the edges of the fabric to the back, use the stapler along each edge to secure the fabric and wadding.

Finally, add the ribbon:

Measure the the length of the top left corner to the centre of the bottom edge of the board. Add 3 inches onto this measurement.

Using the measurement, cut out 4 pieces of ribbon.

Place the first piece of ribbon in the top corner of the board, overlapping the ribbon onto the back of the board by 1 inch. Staple twice to secure. Pull the ribbon tightly to the centre of the bottom edge and pull it tightly to overlap the back of the board by 1 inch. Staple twice to secure.

Tip: pull the ribbon really tight across the board so that it will hold bits and pieces.

Get the second piece of ribbon and pull it from the top right corner to the centre of the bottom edge. The two ribbons on the board should make a 'v' shape. Repeat these steps with the bottom corner.

Finally, pin all of your letters and notes onto your re-vamped board!
